Houston, Texas- Undefeated WBC Middleweight Champion and Houston native Jermall Charlo will defend his title against middleweight contender Brandon Adams on Saturday, June 29 live on Showtime at the NRG Arena. The night of professional boxing is presented by Premeir Boxing Champions, Lions Only Promotions, and TGB Promotions and tickets are already available through Ticketmaster.
Charlo and his twin brother Jermell are genuine Houston, Texas products of boxing and are proudly representing our city at the highest levels of professional boxing. In reference to this opportunity to defend his title and perform in front of his hometown fans, Jermall Charlo had this to say:
“It’s time for me to put up for my city of Houston, George Foreman is back and he’s in the middleweight division, that’s how I feel about fighting in my hometown. You know how hot it gets down here in the summer and no one is going to be able to take this heat that I’m about to deliver. I’ve been working hard with Ronnie Shields and Creed Fountain, making some adjustments and now you’re going to see me back with knockout power. I know Brandon Adams is looking at this as a big opportunity, but it’s a big step up for him. The pressure isn’t on him it’s on me, because I’m fighting in my hometown and I’m going to deliver what the fans have come to expect from me”.
Houston has historically been a big fight town with many great fighters, coaches, and boxing teams from the days of Roy Harris and George Foreman to the more recent exploits of Juan Diaz and Rocky Juarez and now we have Marlen Esparza and the Charlo twins burning through the professional ranks of boxing. This is a great opportunity for not only Jermall Charlo to fight in front of his hometown but also for the city of Houston to show up and support our Champion on the highest stages of the pro game.
We have several up and coming promotional outfits that have been keeping boxing alive in town by putting on club shows and we greatly appreciate their efforts, so let’s also show the big time promoters and powers that be that Houston loves it’s boxing and boxers and we will show up and show out for our city. Ticket prices are very reasonable for a big time event so get your tickets now and come enjoy the show on June 29!
